Bio Wkshop Day 2

Day 2 of the Bio Workshop is definitely more interesting than yesterday's. We made perfume and moulded our soaps. Yes, making perfumes. Very fun you know?

No really. Got hands and a face. Cannot see ar?!

What was so great about perfume making is that it is a really really long and tedious process. Your nose also tends to get kind of immune to any smells after smelling too much. So yeah. So there's actually 3 perfumes in one. Really cool.

We made our own chrysanthemum scent too. Chopping the flowers up, mashing them, adding them up in ethanol and they stink don't smell so good.

Bathing in ethanol

They have also provided us with some essential oils. Trust me, adding them is easy, but FINDING them is not so easy:
Where is peppermint? Where is rose?

After the workshop (let's not mention the ethanol that TM sprayed on our table that smelled like shit - no, really. Smelled as if someone just lau sai. Not just lau sai. Some really sucky lau sai.)

Right. After the workshop we went to Cheese Prata Shop to makan. Damn expensive. Better not go there too often. JH actually wanted to join us but thanks to the people who insisted that he must stay (he's taking part in the Adidas tournament thing. His team won. Walkover - their competitor didn't come) to get the schedule. So... too bad lor.

Like this don't know when can record the podcast.

Oh yeah, finally getting my 6670 down to Nokia tomorrow to fix that blardy "press the zero key get 3" problem. SMS very ma fan leh.

Bio Workshop Day 1

Today, we had the Bio lifescience workshop. One look at the notes cover and we thought we've revisited the past. Same cover, same design, different level. And same company. Oh, and it's $50. And complusory.

We entered Bio Lab 1 and our trainers, Ms Christine and Ms Narnia (I swear it's not spelled like that. I forgot the actual surname... but it just sounds like Narnia) were quite nice. Quite. We were told that we will be taking care of the orchid part of the ecogarden. That includes weeding, adding fertilizer, watering, etc. Fun right? Fun, my foot! Sorry for those sheeshers or people who love gardening. No offense, but I really have no interest in gardening. So there.

We then headed down to the ecogarden's orchid portion. OMG! Nearly all the orchids are kinda lifeless. You don't believe? Look:

Whoops!

If you can't see properly, TM is taking one totally lifeless plant up. Just because we wanted to remove a weed that is so tightly attached to the nearly dead one. Wow!

The one interesting thingy is this pitcher plant. Yan Wei found it and started to put those (uncountable) millipedes that could be found in the ecogarden into the pitcher plant. Later the plant kena constipation ah!

After the weeding and the fertilizer, we got a 10 minute break. After the break we were introduced to some fruit plants and that's when I discovered that the banana is a herb, and not a plant. The reason it is classified as a fruit is because it reproduces real quickly. Also known as damn fertile. I can use that in the next podcast. (I'm B1, your FERTILE herb banana) ;)

They also let us sample some of the fruits that are kinda more "exotic" - rambutan (wow, so exotic!), chiku and pomelo. And the pomelo rocks! Whoo! Quite cold and not bitter at all. Unfortunately Yi Hui got the bitter part. So... TOO BAD! :P (Kidding)

We then made some soap using sodium hydroxide pellets (10 moles! Damn concentrated), distilled water and oil. When mixing the NaOH with the distilled water, the container really got hot. And I thought it was cool. (It is.)

After the "soap" is made, we went downstairs and had a "tour" of the ecogarden. Did you know that peppermint makes people more intelligent? I need more peppermint! Haha. Oh, and the Kangkong in the school is really weird. Really.

Eh, teacher, teacher... what happen to the kangkong ah? Why made of metal one?

No wonder the orchids in our school also dying.

After the Bio Workshop (there's another day tomorrow), we had Chem remedial. Fast-forward the lunch parts as they were abit the boring.

At first Ms Lim postponed the remedial as some were not here (Maths olympiad). But she changed her mind and we had the remedial. Then something brilliant happened. Ms Lim divided the class into groups of 3. One clever one, and 2 not-so-clever ones (including me. Duh).

Worksheet given. Clever one help not-so-clever ones. Incidentally, Tick Meng was assigned to help Yi Yang and I. How lucky! Thanks to TM, I finally knew how to do some Chemistry. I'm really grateful to you, Tick Meng! :)

On the way home (after eating some noodles with YY at Clem Central) I fell asleep. Luckily, I woke up when the bus stopped at my bus stop. So very heng.

And the spoiled 17" BenQ LCD returned! Brand new! I love it! :)

And now, I can start to think of the scents we can make for the soap we're going to complete tomorrow. Let's see... Fart? (Fragrant, indeed)

Recording podcasts

Oh my gosh, I love recording podcasts! Not that my voice sounds great, but it's just fun. Fun recording ,and equally fun mixing the sound together, looking for sound loops for the intro and stuff.

Therefore podcast 2 is available at sheeshed304.blogspot.com. It's really gettin' great. Haha.

So... after recording the podcast (which made me admit that I got really bad results), Jun He, Yi Yang and I went to JH's house... for fun. Actually I wanted to upload the .wav files from the podcast to my server. But then, since got PS2, might as well play lor.

On the way to his house, we went past a fitness corner. Then Jun He and I did chin-ups while listening to the music. Can you see the headphones connecting us together? Haha.
"Eh, Yi Yang... pai le mei you? Hen lei leh!"

After the chinup thing, we went to a nearby kopitiam and makan. JH and I not hungry so we shared a bowl of yu pian mee fen. Yeah. And I look so retarded:

"Eh, you think so easy to eat ar?"
We then went upstairs, played (lots of) PS2 and went home. We played Fifa Street 2, Winning Eleven 10 (kena owned. Expected), WWE, and ALMOST played Athens 2004. Blah.

Bio Life Science thing tomorrow. I thought we did life science in Sec 2? If it's the same as last year, the school'd better explain and refund us our $50.

Redesigning Elna.com.sg

Those old, ever-so-loyal readers of my blog may know that I have designed Elna.com.sg for my aunt.

Now, I'm redesigning Elna.com.sg. The current design is so... dead. Has those dull feeling. No "fresh" feeling. So. I'm redesigning it to be more contemporary.

Oh. And I have already redesigned the whole thing. Last thing is for my aunt to confirm. And the new version will go up.

Why am I typing all these? Because I have no other stuff to post today.

(Really want to record episode 2 on Monday)

PTC

Just had PTC a few hours ago. Since Mama wasn't around, Uncle BigBelly took over. What I did know that PTC was really horrible. Especially my results. Sigh.

But what I do know is that the next episode of the 304 podcast will be on PTC. Definitely.

Will post more later. ;)

Catching

Geog: Mr Yeo proclaimed himself as UncleBigBellyYeo. He must be disappointed that we didn't give him a nickname like MamaBio. So bu yao lian. But if he would wear singlet with some holes and short pants (like a real uncle), then I would be damn damn damn damn happy to see him at the class BBQ. I'll then take photos of him and sell it. Hahahaha.

PE: Ms Yong's last day. So sad. Retook situp with Jun He and only did one more than last time. What the hell. Just one away from A. But Ms Yong kan wo ke lian then add for me :) Whoo. She rocks. Too bad she's leaving. Who will be our 4th PE teacher?

Physix: Mr Chowy showed AWESOME VIDEO GAMES (video podcast) from YY's iPod. Funny like siao. Those guys are so retarded. Man I want to be like them one day (kidding).

Chemistry: SPA today. JH very cute. Keep asking Ms Lim to help him check colour due to his colour definiency. Then Ms Lim almost fell asleep 5 minutes before the experiment end. Her face so funny. (As usual)

Maths: 3 periods of Maths. (So we had our lunch from 1-1.30pm) Did graphs and stuff. Pretty boring.

Lunch: No ball could be found. So we played Crocodile at Fitness Corner. Then we played catching. Yes. 5 Sec 3 boys playing catching. Siao gin na!

Bio: Mama left. So a new teacher came in (forgot her name). But I do remember I mistaken her as a MOE officer (gasp) when she invilgated our SPA. She abit the funny and abit the lame and alot the boring. (Must cut the words! See? Biology so simple) Man. I miss Mama.

Helped Yan Wei record his ITMC Chairman speech but cannot. Lots of background noise. Then went home. End of day.

Going to Bt View Sec for their investiture tomorrow. Ah well.

Poseidon

After another day at school (yes, we mass-tagged 304 tagboard today! Whoo), Jun He and me went to Clementi to watch Poseidon.

(Oh yeah, in case you don't know. Clementi tickets are only $5. So since I got some extra money, might as well go watch a show. $5 only leh!!! And still can bring your own food in)

The movie was quite nice. Very tense and thrilling. But these actors can hold their breath (supposedly) for quite damn long. When they were underwater, I tried to hold my breath too. (Yeah, I know. Lame) After I gave up (and realised that this is lame), they continued to swim underwater without catching some air. Like... huh?

After the ever-so-exciting movie (I like the front part the post. The two towers ;)), Jun He took out his new Zen Vision and played with it. Like the prior part of the day. Lucky freak. That Zen Vision is so darned expensive (and big).

4 more days to that June holidays.

Crossroads 2006

Yesterday, Yi Hui, Enna, Michelle, Ji Wei and I went to ACJC for Crossroads 2006. Crossroads is just like a meeting point for councillors (or prefects) from other secondary schools... and just have fun together.

I was kind of "sian" after being "chosen" for Crossroads (Russell couldn't make it, so I replaced him), as it was just... too long. 9 to 5! Bah! After meeting the others @ Bouna Vista MRT, we walked to ACJC.

We were the first ones there. And Bonnie (the overall I/C) brought us to a wrong room where we stared into blank space for five minutes. Then we were brought to another room.

After the briefing we were split into groups. I love the way they split us up: there will be at least 2 people from the same school in any one group. Ji Wei and I were in one group, while Enna, Michelle and Yi Hui were in another.

Our group name was Horror (horror, horror!) and our group was great! Sure, the icebreakers were lame, but the actual activities were great: street hockey, dog-and-bone soap style (forgot the name), blind man's soccer (I think) and the ever-so-amazing Amazing Race.

The Amazing Race was great. Except for the fact that there were prizes for 1st and 2nd only when they did say that there were 1st, 2nd, 3rd prizes. (Familiar?) And the Queen of Shiva (I think) was the best. Who has the longest pinky? :)

Crossroads was great. Really great. (Oh yeah, and we went crazy when we were walking back to Bouna Vista MRT. Felt as if we were just released from OC (Orientation Camp) all over again)

NAPFA

Got back English and Chinese papers today. So relieved that I have passed my tests. So I have only 3 failures (so far). And I am sounding so happy. Yeah, I'm very strange.

Today we kept drawing funny pictures on the board. And emphasising on one's special trait (teachers). For example, for Mr Chowy, we drew a damn long body. For Mrs Tan we drew a huge belly. For Ms Lim... try your imagination ;)

Then JH gave Ms Poon a "Most Straight Hair : gradient undefined" award for her rebonded hair. Then she still say the "prize" very lousy. Aiyo.

NAPFA was okay lah. Got gold. Sit-ups... just 2 away from A. SBJ is not so good. A C. Never mind. Sit and Reach was surprisingly shocking. I got B (first time). Inclined Pull Ups... Mr Chowy will know. Shuttle Run... slow lah.

So like this lo.

Giving Mrs Tan a "farewell party" tomorrow.

Hope it will turn out well.

North East Line

Long day today. School was especially boring, especially when we got back the results (and that extremely, extremely, extremely disappointing Bio) for Bio and A Maths.

During Bio, Mrs Jac Tan gave me a note from the General Office saying that I could collect my lost green homework file which I had lost on bus 151 on my way home from Hougang Interchange. Like, huh? I've filed a loss report and yet they contacted the school instead of me. But at least they found the file. So I was kinda delighted (not for long; after I got my Bio, I was so upset).

After school, we sold ice cream, and Joyce, Yi Hui, Russ and me finally had another rather productive Yeah/Grad Night meeting. Teaser to the Sec 4s: The prize for best dressed is rather Appleish. Ok, too much hint.

After the meeting, me took MRT to Hougang. This is my first time taking NEL to somewhere quite far away so I was kinda excited. (Yeah, I know. Excited over a MRT ride) But what is most intriguing is that Woodleigh Station (which is not open) is rather creepy as the train sped past through it. The walls are those mossy green and there's poor lighting. Scary.

At Hougang Interchange, the uncles are friendly and they gave me back my file in a zippy. And all of them speak Chinese! I wonder how those "act-ang-moh" Chinese will talk to them.

Hah.

Tomorrow's NAPFA. =(

Results Time

Ah well.

It's that time of the year again.

Mid-year results.

Generally we'll be sitting in the hall getting our results together as a school. Personally, I hate that because we'll be sitting in single file and it will be hard to compare results or just talk. Then got so many people how to talk properly?

And then the teachers will be scolding us for talking so much and causing the results time to cut into our lunch or recess.

So I suggest we do it in class. Much better. Can talk, can compare, can run around without much penalty. Ha!

The past 4 days have been hectic for me. I've been sick on Thursday and Friday, and my computer monitor and mouse screwed up on Saturday and Sunday. Pure retarded shit. Anyway, now I'm typing this and viewing it in a 17" CRT. Does not feel so good to be viewing something so fat after viewing LCDs for at least 3 years, eh?

So. Results tomorrow.

Here we go.

Stupidity

Guess what.

My old site is gone. Oh well. I'm going to miss it.

It's not as if I'm going to let it rot there and not contact IllusionFX. I tried! Their ever so "reliable" helpdesk, so called, does not work. Try registering for an account there. Everything's fine until when they don't send you the confirmation email.

What kind of host is this?! Crap!

Oh well. I guess Google is the real reliable host.

Pleased to meet you again, Blogger.
