Sec 1 Interview Day 1

Whoo. Today after school is the sec one council interview. Was rather excited about it, and when the real thing came, it wasn't as exciting as I thought it would be. So far today's performance left nothing much to be desired, except for some candidates. Some even say "I come here because kena sarbo". My goodness! Fancy that coming out of your mouth.

This year's Sec Ones ar... *sigh*

Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

After interview, went to Mrs Lim LS to do the Racial Harmony feedback form, and also show her the blogging presentation. Hopefully she was amazed at what blogs can do. Yeah.

Very stressed up over cyber wellness and CIP at the moment. Cyber wellness - had to redo the website as there's green. CIP - very slow moving. Very scary. Haha.

Mama's back

I think all the sheeshers have been waiting for this day in anticipation. Mrs Tan will be back! Although only for one month, at least it's better than nothing!

Today was Mr Liu's birthday! If only we'd known! Grrr... otherwise he could have joined us in the bday celebrations today! Photos at the uniquely sheeshy class blog. Wah, I tell you, whole canteen can hear the loud cheers we gave Mrs Tan when she arrived downstairs. We are really relieved that she's back. Sheeshers know why.

Mrs Wong came down too. Actually, truth be told, I feel that Mrs Wong is a great form teacher. She obviously cares for the class AND she really, really cares for the class CIP project. Yeah. :) Sheeshers should start accepting Mrs Wong... she's really great. That neat trend is over. She never say anymore. Now it's initiative, low EQ, $300 mass balance and this is not a dumping ground.

Didn't you realise our dear teeeeeeeeacher said the initiative word today during one of our lessons? She loves that word. So do we.

After school, we went to Mrs Tan's house. Those who went (those that I remember, may not be full list) are:
  1. Yi Yang
  2. Yan Wei
  3. Yi Hui
  4. Me
  5. Wanyu
  6. Wanqing
  7. Josephine
  8. Li Feng
  9. Clarissa
  10. Da Jie
  11. Hui Wen
  12. Si Hui
  13. Lixuan
  14. Charmaine
  15. Shu Ning
  16. Ji Wei
  17. Sally
  18. Hui Ting
  19. Stella
  20. Gina
  21. Christina
  22. Jocelyn
  23. Yi En
  24. Ivy Tan
  25. Xiu Ying
Me initially got abit bu hao yi si lah, because got so many people [25+1(Mrs Tan) in one HDB flat. Go figure] going at one time. But show the sheeshers' spirit!

And that's only one-third of those going.
Hope Mrs Tan didn't mind!

At her house, we chatted, played with the really, really, really cute baby that we kinda watched from conception to delievery (during school time, we saw the belly from small to big!). She's so, so, so, so, so, cute.

The closeup (which I took) says it all.
One of my best closeups ever!
Babies are really so cute.

I LOVE BABIES. Maybe I'll retract that statement when my own cries during midnight, or needs a nappy change, but wait until I get my child mah! I LOVE BABIES!

When it was my turn to carry the baby, I was so scared Erica (baby's name) will cry. Thank goodness she didn't. She didn't cry! She's so cute. Then my hand started to ma bi. If pillows have a voice, now I know how they feel. :P

After the baby's tired and needed some water and rest (got alot of people!), we went to gossip for around an hour in her house. Mrs Tan also joined in. We talked alot of topics, so many until virtually uncountable.

At 5, we left Mrs Tan's house. Mama and baby need rest.

The whole crowd went seperate ways. Some of us (really forgot who) went to KFC to makan abit. The girls abit the shocked that I eat the large mashed potato. IT'S NICE WHAT! :x

Took 184 with Charmaine and Hui Ting and chatted on the way. Really need company for the ride. Or else 100% confirm fall asleep. The mysterious air-con of SMRT Buses can do things to you.

It's the weekends. Time to hit the books or notes already.

CIP moving along...

It's Thursday.

Today was quite okay. During chem today, Mr Nicholas Liu told us how much he tried to take the lab sessions from soooooome---aaaaarther----teeeaaacher, so he spent some time taking about it. His analogy is really amazing. "Other people care about the electronic scale balance, I care about your burns and blisters." Isn't that just sweet? And he also told us how much our new Bio teacher adores us... Actually, it's very very obvious. When she first walked in the class, she don't know how cold to our class, but now, the difference is real obvious. Awww, now our new Chemistry and Bio teachers are adoring us, just like the old Chem and Bio (MAMABIO!) teachers. Hehe.

During PE, we played volleyball as usual. Budden after the volleyball, our group of 11 still continued to play. Don't care. Then we changed to captain's ball. Quite fun. Hehehe. :) Played until end of recess. Then kinda regretted it, cause I was hungry until lunch.

During maths, still quite hohum lah. Then during Assembly, which was cancelled, thhhhhheeeee-aaaaaarrtther--teeeeeeeacccher came in and took us. Thank god Mrs Wong wanted to see me, Boon Yang, Yi Hui, Yan Wei and Melissa for the CIP thing, which was changed to Project Rice.

Then I was a lil' worried. Because BY and her group of people abit like bu shuang about the change of plans. Really quite relieved when they actually co operated!

And we did cover some ground, talking and making some progress. After lunch today we have da gai finalised some abstract plan. Will be busy planning this project, but at least it's looking up.

During Physix, me didn't bring green book so had to join CHOWy's group and kenna shunned by JH and YY. (in Si Aun's tone) WHATEVER LORH! (end Si Aun's tone) English teacher never come, so CHOWy relief.

After school got ITMC, after doing nothing but reading Blogger's editorials, me went downstairs with Liwen to walk walk. Kena approached by Boon Yang, ask me want to take photos for NCC (Girls) group photo. I say yes, anyway upstairs also nothing to do.

Take take liao, dunno delay how long. Nick Tan very pek chek with me... haha, too bad. :p And their fun shot also not very fun. Like stone de. Our class photo more fun! SHEESH! Although got two relatively unknnnnnnnnnnnnnnnown teachers, which really spoiled the mood.

After taking and looking a look around, me went up, back to Lab 3. Things more lively now. Mrs Chiang did not approve of the cyber wellness web! Because of the colour. So have to make changes to the colour scheme. Won't look as nice, that's for sure. Too bad loh.

Tomorrow's FRIDAY.

MAMA'S COMING BACK!

5 hours

And that's how long we had our lessons without a proper break.

Damn idiotic leh.

After recess we had Maths. Great to hear that Ms Ong will be teaching us for the rest of the term, as the other teacher had to relief for another teacher. Yayness. Then I almost fell asleep. Don't know why, this' the first time Maths made me feel so damn bored.

Then we had Bio lab session. SPA. Burn peanut. Then the whole lab become real stinky. What's the worst part? The bloody safety goggles. It's so damn tight until your ears area become painful. Want to take out? Can. Barely pass your SPA loh.

After that we had Time Practice for SS. Do until can die. Quite difficult. Forgot to mention about tone and purpose. So die loh. Sigh. Hope me can do better for next SS test.

Dismiss liao? Wait long. LBK walked in with Chinese HOD and some other guy. Try to engage the sheeshers. But I must say, he did a nice job compared to other lessons. At least more interactive. Otherwise Chinese really can sleep.

THEN, we still had to go for Chem practical. Wah lao, after the magnesium burning then we got a break. Oh yeah, and Tracy damn scared of the magnesium thing. Aiyo, got safety goggles liao, so when you kena burn, confirm won't blind you de! Scared what? Scared your eyes kena burn then as big as someone else ar? Haha.

Big eyes remind me of the podcast. Yay.

Slack

Finally some slack in 2 months.

Yeah, people! I'm slacking!

I promise that I will study later. But now, let me blog. Yay. I'm blogging for your entertainment, ya know? Haha, kidding.

First off, YH's blog kenna spammed damn lot. Aiya can't do anything much for him also, only can say "good luck have fun". Since got so many people dislike him. So yeah. Good luck have fun. Any help can ask me, but I doubt I can help much. Cause it's your problem (as in, the whole problem is with you). Yeah. So, good luck have fun.

Recorded podcast episode 5 during lunch today. That JH loh, love to do Chinese homework so much until delay in recording. Whatever. (saying in JH tone) Hahaha. Still waiting for him to send the files for editing. Rah. But it'll be short this time. No more 14 minutes. :)

Lessons were rather rapid today. Enjoying the whole day today, except Bio. Can see everybody dozing off. Most slack is English, with all the presentations. But now all the presentations have been presented. So no more slacky English.

And for Chemistry, we are using Problem Based Learning to learn the new topic. To me, it sounds like teacher lazy to teach. Dunno leh. See how. Hopefully it'll be useful, because ever since Mr Nicholas Liu start to teach us, my results for Chem quite good leh. At least better compared to the time when Princess was teaching. Of course lah, not as funny but results more important.

I just cut my hair. I look funny.

Common Tests 2

Coming soon.

Better not slack.

Ok.

Besides taking announcements for the first time today, there's nothing much. Oh yah, and Mr Chia YL taught us Maths. Shocking.

Ok.

Better not slack.

As Common Tests 2 are coming soon.

Racial Harmony - The Finish Point

Racial. Harmony. was. really. really. great.

We woke up damn early today as we were required to. Although the Guest-of-Honour missed our booth, we still got quite a number of attention, despite some distractions all around us. It really was a good day for us.

I won't talk more, but the whole thing turned out to be really great, so yeah. Took hundreds of photos, but will only show the 2 or 3 that I feel is nice here.

And to those people who think that I'm upset because I luo xuan le, I'm not upset... just a bit disappointed. But at this point I'm okay with it already.

Ok, so now the photos.
2 Chinese girls helping a fellow malay girl. Racial harmony!

My favourite photo which I've taken today. One Malay and one Indian girl having fun with a mock dragon dance.
These little SIA girls really, really, really damn cute! They are also not camera shy. So even better.
And it all ends with smiles all over. :)
And not forgetting the colourful ExCEL Day windmills. How to relate the windmills to racial harmony? Don't worry. I can handle that question ;)

That's it!

I'll do my homework tonight, take a break tomorrow and continue my now-slightly-relaxed-when-compared-to-this-week life.

Racial Harmony - To The Finish Point Day 3

First off, me not president. Good for Yi Hui! So life goes on. Quite okay about it. At least got 3rd in number behind Si Ian. But Lynette's blog post cheered me so, so, so damn much!

Assembly was FUNNAYE. Cause Kahswee and Nick went up to dance! But some teacher spoiled the mood by scolding the protem members saying that they were not taking the initiative -.- Shuttarp la. Then was Amath. Studied a little of chem and taught Michelle abit. Then I fell asleep O_O

Anw, Kahswee kept saying "NETTErocks" :D:D:D So I replied him with "Kahswee rocks." Yeaman, we rock. x) Kahswee WILL be president! Hahaha, I hope. x) My little kahchua. Join the COCKROACH fanclub! Now there's only like Michelle and me? HAHAHA. There'll be more! The whole council! xD
from http://--lynette.blogspot.com

This post was posted... yesterday. Then today the results kena known. Ah well. The 2nd paragraph really cheered me up. Thanks, nette!

Moving along. Yah. Racial Harmony. Day 3.

During recess, PRESIDENT, me, nette[ROCKS], Teng Teng[can rock harder], Ji Wei [who also rocks], Michelle [literally rocks] (fine i'll stop with the rocking thing) went to G.O to finish up cutting the slides and laminating the stuff. Had a nice time there.

During lunch, JH and me went down early (oh yah, thanks to INITATIVE, we didn't have any practical) to makan roti prata (special food for Racial Harmony!), budden out of stock. REQUEST to newly-elected president: Ask them prepare more lah!

Then we went all the way to Innova JC. Long story. Michelle and Nick know the behind-the-scenes story. All about falling down with the BIG ExCEL Fest sign, passing on the windmills, Mdm Sung, AND Mr Phua helping me up with that bloody fall. (Very diu lian leh). Not forgetting a really angry bus driver.

Really long story about that fall. You don't wanna know (just like that assembly thing yesterday).

So went to Innova JC (love it so much!), set up the thing in >3 hours. Really long. Long until cannot long. Very tired. But in the end we did it! The Steps to HARMONY game was really awesome. After rolls and rolls of masking tape, here it is... a sneak preview!

Woohoo! Mrs Lim LS, Mrs Chiang, Mr Raymond Ya, Nick, Michelle and I rock! Ji Wei also!

The snakes and ladders haven't do yet, but at least the framework is sturdy and done!

Feeling quite relieved now, seriously. As 2 of the many many projects I have can be considered over: Council Election [ah well, whatever], and Racial Harmony [the fastest-paced project ever. the whole thing in 1 week!].

And I shall write this... as I kinda promised to do.

Life goes on.

Racial Harmony - To The Finish Point Day 2

Even more jialat than yesterday. Extremely tired.

Today was the day when the Council voted for their 14th SC President. Oh yeah, we will be knowing the results like... tomorrow?! So fast! But also good lah, get it over and done with.

Just read someone's blog (won't say who) who claimed that Yao Zhong actually still wore a PE tee after recess (which was a bad example for that someone). Hmmm... *raises eyebrows*

Did whole lot of stuff today. Laminated the floor tiles - damn, it's so cool. No electricity, no heat, nothing. Just some filmsy lamination that is damn instant and fast... and cheap too. After that, Ji Wei and I went to get our Guzheng costumes (we're not from Guzheng... only lending for the Racial Harmony).

Yeah.

After school, I marked ITMC's attendance for the first time! (Must take into consideration: The more important people away on summer camp. Ok, enough justification) Did make some mistakes (I didn't have a ruler - that's my excuse AND I'm sticking by that excuse) though. After attendance taking, listened to the White Wall project presentation and truth be told, they're really quite good. Just take away the script and they'll pull it off. (As in, be so confident till they don't need any script)

After ITMC, Mrs Chiang and I tried to print some stuff with that really expensive printer in the Printing Room. Even got A1 size! I have never ever heard of that size till today. And it's huge.

Experimented with the software for several times before I was kicked out by Ms Ban in fear of any test paper leak. But at least the thing was done nicely.

Then met up with Mrs Lim LS and the other team members + Yi Hui (at this rate, YH has changed from just a stick-around to a full fledged member) EXCEPT Nick. (Oh yeah, I want to kill Nick for sarbo-ing me up to the blardy stage today)

Discussed with Mdm Sung (OMG she still remembered my name from the previous SMC meeting) and then Mr Phua said hi to me (EVEN OMG He actually knew my name from the previous SMC meeting!!!!). In fact, when Mr Phua said hi to me I was really speechless... didn't know what to say (and that's very lau kui).

After deciding to use the ExCEL Fest fans in our booth and testin' them out, I had to rush to my tuition (which coincided with my Racial Harmony actual event this Saturday). Was late around 30 minutes (but my mum told the teacher). Dunno how damn tired I was. After that first half, Jonathan came in, and then we went to Mac to eat (god, I didn't eat lunch or recess or whatsoever from 7am to 7.30pm). Then met 3 ex-schoolmates (primary school) in the tuition. Yeah. Really forgot them, except for one.

Oh well. Tomorrow's the day.

Dunno if I will kena or not.

IF got, I guess my secondary school life would be changed dramatically. If not, life goes on.

Racial Harmony - To The Finish Point Day 1

These few days I should be really damn focused on the Racial Harmony exhibition at Innova JC this Saturday. It's only 3 more days to the actual event... and 2 more days to the day when we have to set up the booth.

Very last minute work, very, very, very rush.

During Reading Period today, all the teachers went to the Conference Room to listen to our ever-so-impromptu speeches for them to make their vote for the 14th SC President. So impromptu, we're practically told to prepare a speech 5 minutes before the whole thing.

After school today, I went to Media Hub to do some stuff and contribute somewhat to the new Nan Hua High website. However, there is some problem with the animation and I have to redo tomorrow. Ah well. Golly golly golly.

After that one hour of work (which made me really stressed up at some mistakes that I shouldn't have done), I rushed to The Two Blue Sofas @ HOD Room (tm) to rush the Racial Harmony thing.

And what huge progress we've made! We have finished every single tile for our Steps To Harmony game (aka Snakes and Ladders) and now ready for lamination tomorrow (supposed to be today, but damn rushed). We have also done the dice and we have also made arrangements for our special ethnic costume (Thank YOU Guzheng!). What is left is the selection and printing of slides. Thanks a million to Yi Hui for helping or else we would have never reached what we have done today. Thanks!

When we were about to leave, the Summer Camp (FAKE) campfire is about to start. Yeah, it's FAKE. So no biggie. And it's in the parade square. Very small campfire.

And it's bloody fake.

Very depressed over class CIP project. Rice or car? Car or rice? Very sigh sigh sigh.

14th Student Council President Election

Rah.

This day dunno delay how many times liao. But I'm so damn glad it's really over.

The first Council President Election (for the 14th Student Council) happened today, where the Protem members made a short 'rally' speech (if you would think that way) and then the pupils will vote for their desired president. Now it seems that popularity would count more, as the results will be more important and significant on the student population side (60% of results will be on students)

I was third in row, and I felt that everybody did a good job. Me I'm okay, but I was quite nervous I guess. Hopefully I can be next President, but that's only a hope. Still got long way to go. Ah well.

At least today got a day in 2 weeks where I can come back to school slightly earlier. Other days all do project. Project until die ar! I like projects though.

Now busy rushing off the Racial Harmony thing. My blardy computer really spoiled liao. Reformat le still got "virus". Donno if it's a Trojan. Sigh.

Give me my computer back!

A break

Finally.

One day with a *BREAK*. This week has been really really tiring for me and I have been lookin' forward to this day like hell. Extremely happy and slept extremely late today... until 8.30am. For some of you, that's early, but for me, if you take into account the time which I wake up normally during the holidays (which is 7am sharp), AND the time which I slept at yesterday night, it's real late.

Went for the Maths tuition and learnt the Binomial Theorem. Initally I didn't understand anything, but after 2 sums, I found it to be rather interesting and straightforward. One big shock once I reached home was the removal of the cow grass from my house.

I would have never thought of growing carpet grass in my home since I was around 2 or 3. It's going to be back! Woohoo! (Actually also no biggie lah)

Work in progress.

Really finally getting to use the computer today and I feel so damned relaxed and happy. As in relieved-from-any-stress type of happy. One thing to celebrate about is the final completion of the Nan Hua Experience video! Woohoo! Oh yeah, and I have learnt some simple editing tips using Adobe Premiere Pro in like 10 mins thanks to this damn project. Which is still a long way till completion (the whole experience, not only the video)

One good thing, too, is that the school is finally, finally, FINALLY, getting an iMac! Yayness. Finally some decent computer to edit video on.

Better cherish today and tomorrow before the stress kicks in this Monday. (But stress is fun)

Rea! Talk recording

On Wednesday, some NHrians and I went to Toa Payoh HDB Hub to join in the recording of the Rea! Talk show thing. I never watched the show before, so I have no friggin' idea of what's going to happen, except of course, that Diana Ser would be there.

It was really quite special, with quite a number of special guests, like Mr Colin Goh, Kit Chan, Dolly from Under One Roof (or is it Phua Chu Kang? Hmmm....) and some other people. Quite interesting.

The topic was about Singaporean Identity and it was really quite fun to watch how the panelists talk their way out to prove their points. Of course lah, I sat on the aisle so camera confirm kena me de. Or is it me confirm kena camera?

After the shoot which delayed so, so, long, I got a chance to take a picture with Diana Ser with Daphne and her friend. :)

GRIN

Project GRIN... coming to a bin near you (at Nan Hua).

Oh yeah, provided can pass through all the red tape. And more red tape.

Then see if it will come true. :)

(It's a green project)

NDP Family Day

Now posting this post using Microsoft Word 2007. Wah, quite cool. It actually supports BLOGGER! You know… it’s Google. And you did thought that Microsoft not very happy with Google. And now MS supports Google’s Blogger in Word! Amazing!

Went to watch NDP yesterday with friends (Cas and Teng Teng). Loved it. Went very crazy and I think Teng’s family got freaked out by me. Cas’s mum also. But who cares? Haha.

Off to do English project liao. :)

Busy until can cry

How do I feel right now?

Very, very, very stressed and upset. I got so many things going on... let me state those things I'm involved in as of... now!
  1. Nan Hua Grad Nite 2006 "Breakaway" [my most enthu-ed project now! Whoo!]
  2. Yeah! Council
  3. 304 CIP project
  4. Chiron's Special Media Club (aka The Nan Hua Experience. More later)
  5. Racial Harmony @ Innova JC
  6. Green stuff... all things green
  7. SMC presentation on IT every Wednesday (regularly)
  8. Homework. Loads of them
  9. Green, council, some english interview. May appear on the CNA Get Rea! show. May.
  10. Council Protem - the president thing. Yeah. The orbituaries.
See lah? How stressed am I?

The worst, and most Stressful-listic project is the Chiron's Special Media Club. What is it about?

4 weeks. Have to produce MAJOR Nan Hua publicity material. MAJOR. Including...
  • A 2 minute video of a day in Nan Hua. Due next Thursday. EVERYTHING.
  • A website called The Nan Hua Experience. Obviously, must do in 1 week
  • Flash thing. Should be a virtual tour. 1 week
  • Something like a audio podcast I guess. 1 week.
Like what the hell? Of course, if me and my other 2 teammates are free on everyday of course I will do finish. My next week packed 100% liao.

  • Sunday - Take Pines video for Grad nite
  • Monday - Council and English interview, and after that try to do video
  • Tuesday - Green Interview. Until 4 I think. After that try to do video
  • Wednesday - If kena selected, go to Toa Payoh and record the Get Rea! show.
  • Thursday - Let's see. Oh right. DEADLINE.
How? How? How? Not forgetting the other 7 stuff I am actively involved in! Including the ever-so-pressing helping-Singapore Children Society-CIP thing! WAH!

Anyway, enough complaining.

Today is MOE Excel Fest at our school (day 1). Yeah. Usher people, blah, blah, blah. Eat nice food, be Mr Ng's runner, blah, blah, blah.

Oh yeah. I SAW SHUN JIE! OH MY GOD! I was so damn excited when I saw him. He changed alot since primary school... more outgoing and outspoken. Just like me. Hah!

And he's in his school council EXCO. Whoo!

Yeah, and the poster I did for Commonwealth Secondary was THERE! YES!

Really didn't expect to see my poster there. Also didn't see SJ so obvious. His location damn corner so didn't see him. Very happy, just talked about some stuff (he's in his council EXCO!) and also got the CSS SC president contact. Just in case got any council exchange thing. :)

After that had a huge break at Council Room. Played Taboo. Had a hugely explosively damn fun time with Taboo. Really. Really felt damn happy.
Going to school after tuition to take the vid camera for A Day in Nan Hua video.

And also help the pathetic Lynette fill in some duty.

Sigh.

O Level Oral

Yikes.

Not waiting for this day.

Cause it's so scary.

'O' levels leh!

So the two teachers were quite scary and the topic was scary too. Sigh.

Sigh some more. But I'm sure I didn't do too badly.

One thing that made my day was that the SMC meeting was canned today so I don't have to present IT stuff for them. Yet.

Tomorrow is Chem Test. Many people say damn hard. Good luck lor.

Newton Food Centre

Went to Newton Food Centre after Chinese tuition today to eat something for afternoon tea break. Wah, didn't know that just opened from upgrading.

Of course lah, with upgrading, the rent goes up and food prices goes up. A plate of hokkien mee costs $3, and a cup of sugarcane costs $1.50! SO DAMN EXPENSIVE!

This place surely for tourists one. They don't feel any heartbreak as of course, they on vacation mah.

Also can't find our favourite desert stall. Seemed that only got 2 or 3 stalls selling desert only. Yeah.

But surroundings quite nice lah, quite clean and so forth.

But food still very expensive leh. Don't upgrade can what! Then also very unique, got the difference in floor level what.

That's UNIQUELY Singapore what.

SYF Opening Ceremony!

Thanks to Evelyn, my family and I went to the National Stadium (and probably the last time in it forever, as it is going to be torn down very soon) and watched the SYF Opening Ceremony. I enjoyed it alot.

The front part reminded me about NDP... very similar. All the contingents and whatsoever thingies very familiar. A good point about our location was that I was close to one of those big big exits. So sometimes can catch the people exiting up close, albeit from top down.

Yeah.

I enjoyed NH's performance alot. Quite flashy (literally) and exciting. The music is a giveaway that the same performance item will be used for NDP - "One People One Nation One Singapore". But it could be better. Still, there's almost 2 more months till NDP. So there's plenty of time to practise and improve. Jia you!

Following are some of the 100+ photos I have took during the SYF Opening Ceremony.

As you can see, PM Lee looked straight into my camera! Whoo!
Gregory and Zhi Yi knew that I was up there! Whoo!
Grad finale! Whoo!
