Eventful.

Super eventful since Closure Day.

So eventful I don't know where to start.

Let's start from Friday.

Friday
Went to Pines with Yao Zhong on the good ol' 170 for food tasting for Grad Nite. There, with Ms Wassan, Mrs Lip, Shu Xuan, Hui Shan, Yao Zhong, Russell and me, we ate the 8 courses that were supposed to be served on Grad Nite itself. Rather satisfactory, no major complaints.

After food tasting we surveyed the (small) Grand Ballroom and talked about "plans" with the teachers (and we almost threw away our grad nite identity thanks to someone - won't mention who). After the "discussion", YZ, Hui Shan, Shu Xuan and me went to Vivo (thankfully) to watch Death Note. Guess what? All the times suck so I have to go home.

Since it was HS's first time at Vivo we walked around Vivo's "harbourfront" and HS and I suddenly had the urge to eat Swensen's. Hahaha. Yeah, so we wasted Russell's $30 treat for us to watch movies on a Regular Earthquake (my first!).

After which, Hui Shan and I shared a chocolate fondue while Yao Zhong and Shu Xuan had their Banana Split (and were obviously jealous as our fondue looked SO much better).

On the trip home felt damn happy. Must be the chocolate.

Saturday
Cousin came over to my house and stayed overnight. Rather slacky day. Went to Newton to eat BBQ chicken wings and cheng tng.

Sunday
Woke up in a particularly hungry and tired state. Was so hungry that I had to take those (yucky-tasting) lemon flavoured biscuits. Even so, the biscuits didn't make me less hungry and I still felt especially tired.

Something was wrong.

Went with family + cousin to Ghim Moh hawker centre where I felt really unwell and uneasy (too tired). Didn't join family for breakfast as I went out of hawker centre and into some block's void deck and rested on the cooling marble bench. Wanted to puke but can't force myself to puke.

After reaching home, slept for around one hour (had to wait for clinic to open). Soon I felt a fever arising and again, felt so sick I was so weak (can't support the weight of my body; dunno why).

Went to doctor, on way home vomitted everything out (including that yucky tasting lemon flavoured biscuits). Since it has been a damn long time since I vommitted, the cramp of the stomach when one vomits seemed to fade off from my memory and suddenly came back due to this illness (virus).

Went home, ate medicine, slept for 3 more hours while family went out for tuition and other stuff. Woke up, felt much better, but pathetically tired still. But I insisted on going out with my family for dinner outside.

The trip outside improved my spirits and I felt real better but again, was super tired. Never felt so tired before. Felt like sleeping everywhere we go. But I did met Ji Peng and some others at JE library where I borrowed some books.

Once I reached home I SLEPT, but did study some O level Chinese. And slept. And hoped that I will feel better tomorrow.

Monday
GCE O Levels Chinese exam. Thankfully I felt alright (although a bit tired) when I woke up. Was relieved. Exam was okay. In fact, the period from morning to night is okay. Hahaha.

After O levels, Yi Yang and Yan Wei came to my house to eat lunch and play Xbox. Was funny when I kena squashed by YW in Halo 2 (I had NO idea that that would happen). Went back to school with them for Physics remedial where we had some fun. =)

Tuesday
Woke up feeling 100% okay. But mother still worried for me so I didn't go out for sheeshers' movie outing. Slacky day. Went to play TSR Sims 2 Challenges and was rather addicted to it. Yeah. Did some A Maths and physics homework.

Closure 2006

today was the second last day of school and there's a closure assembly. seems that most people have enjoyed it, especially watching the videos.

- From a sheesher's blog :)

It's over.

It's my first school event that I'm overall i/c in... and I personally felt that today's closure assembly was a smashing hit (read the quote above).

All my effort and hard work (including the painful waiting for the video to render) have paid off with a thunderous applause at the end of the last (the 5th) video. Thanks to the applause from the audience, I felt that my hard work for the school has paid off. And I could sense that the school enjoyed the videos that I've made. Thank you so much! :)

[And in case you think that subtitling is a simple job, please think again.]

Would like to thank the various members of the Nan Hua family who were agreeable on being recorded using my digital camera. The video won't be there without your contribution and help. Thank you!

Would like to thank the Council as well, for dancing so superbly today during the closure assembly. It was a great job, and the 3 cheers were simply deafening. May the Council Spirit last until Orientation Camp (by then, the spirit would be higher. Haha)

I would like to thank ITMC (my dearest CCA, haha) for the PA assistance and the instantenous (really) response of volume requests. Thanks for putting up with me for these two days... especially the Computer Audio! Thanks to Cheng Yi and Jonathan especially.

Lastly, but MOST importantly, I would like to thank my fellow EXCO, especially Enna (my 2nd i/c) for making those beautiful hearts that we gave to the teachers and support staff. Would like to thank Ji Wei (and Enna) for accompanying me in taking the different videos, and helping me in the persuading process. I would like to thank Shu Xuan (tho' you're not in EXCO, you are much treasured in Council), Yi Hui and Si Ian for helping out with the dance. Thanks a lot.

Thank you so much. I really hoped that I have set a high standard for next year's closure, which should be taken over by the 15th Council EXCO. ;)

Closure Madness

There's this cool little thing called School Closure Day, and it is on Wednesday. Our favourite Council in charge told the Council EXCO about this wonderful and exciting event just a few days ago.

And the thing is like... a few more days away?

The basic idea is to ask everyone to thank everyone, and to share their gratitude. Like thanksgiving, only on a way bigger extent. (The bigger the extent, the more tired the council will be)

Told on Wednesday. The real thing is on next Wednesday.

Isn't that superb? We just LOVE last minute challeges. Makes us awake (literally).

Anyway I've been so focused on this supposedly easy and small project until I have been losing sleep (thus I'm awake, haha) and me getting the nice little flu virus going around, supposedly in some secondary school AVA room where I started to sneeze real badly.

Going around the whole school the whole day to get people to be recorded for Closure Day. Tiring experience, definitely, and THANKFULLY most of the people we approached are great (special special thanks go out to canteen aunties, Mdm Atun from G.O, and the security guard auntie. Thanks so much!)

Now that the day's over (thank god), the year's toughest deadline project lies in the next 2 days. I'm taking this night off to properly REST (I'm seriously sick) and be energetic for next day's "work".

Also went to Commonwealth Sec yesterday for a Cyber Wellness presentation in their AVA room (hmm, why is the phrase AVA room so familiar? Oh yeah, read above). Met Shun Jie and horror of horrors, SJ totally changed 180 degrees compared to primary school. Just like me.

Even though we went seperate ways, we were still very great friends and nothing beats seeing him on a tiring day. And yet, even as he changed, I changed as well. So now we are rather similar again.

Just like in primary school.

Awww.

Anyway, got to go and sleep soon. Must get rest! :)

The Shock

First off, the shocky web-thing. I'm considering moving this Blogger database to a WordPress one. Yes, yes, you may be asking - why in the world do I love to change so much? It wasn't so long ago since I regretted using WP and went back to Blogger. Still thinking about this... but main thing is that the address won't be changed and no crap bookmarks will have to be re-bookmarked (or favorites, whatever - I prefer using Firefox terms)

Next, I receieved a shocking result for English. So shocking that I have NEVER thought of getting such a score for English overall. Of course was happy with the result. Brought a nice ending to the HORRENDOUS results I've gotten during EOYs.

After school had EXCO meeting. First half was Orientation Camp meeting with Mr Ng and Mrs Lip (also working with both for Grad Nite - gosh), and second half was just loads of talking and updating on the various different things coming up real soon. Had a nice time in the SAC discussing with the rest of the EXCO about many stuff.

READ MORE CHINESE, people. I may be considering to change my posts to all chinese so that we can practise typing writing Chinese and reading Chinese for the O levels in 2 weeks.

VivoCity

Firstly, I'm not going to the Thailand Service Learning Trip anymore, if anyone would still be asking me. Reason is due to poor results (of course, there are many other reasons behind the decision). So yeah. Those who are going, have fun =D

So... my family and I went to VivoCity today and just spent around 2 hours there. Not that we intended to spend such a long time there (time is a subjective matter; for me, 2 hours is quite long), but the deals at Giant were too good to resist.

So we did some unexpected grocery shopping. Best thing yet: Spend $20 and get free loaf of bread. Real good deal, IMHO. Yeah. But the mall is real huge and real cool. I like those groovy curves going all around the place.
Curvy...

As I've said, it's huge, and it's also buzzing with people. ESPECIALLY the food court (oh, why wasn't that a major surprise?), which was split into the halal (Banquet) and non-halal (Kopitiam) areas.

And the Kopitiam card is a novel idea... in fact it's rather genius. Cash-free and all, and stallholders don't have to find any change. AND you get a 10% discount with the card (the blue one). But if you have a huge family, or a huge crowd or group of people, one card will not be enough (we found that out today). But it will be rather stupid to have 2 cards and waste some extra money just for convinence.

So it's a good and bad thing, if you look at it with a larger group. But then again, it will be the path to the future food court... and the future world, where there's only contactless cash cards and such.

And the haze is getting bad again. Up and down. Up and down.

Just like life.

Up and down.

Jun He's B'day

Jun He's birthday today. Went to Jurong East KBox in the morning with Jun He (duh), Yi Yang and Yi Hui. Had a great fun time. So funny and excited. Saw some Sec 2 councillors at JEC having ice skating. Good to see them bonding during our school's marking day. Hehe.

After the KBox thing, which I have found out that their meals have improved tremendously (even got mango pudding!), went to Jun He's house to play Maple, Audi, and Winning Eleven (THE PENGUINS ARE SO CUTE!)

By the way, last Saturday, had Mid Autumn Festival at Nan Hua and also had a Hanyu Shui Ping thing at River Valley. Got Writing, Listening, Speaking and Reading tests. The more interesting one is the oral one. Since they can't afford to slowly have oral tests with every single person. So they are "smart", kind of.

Everybody gets a tape recorder. They play a pre-recorded tape asking the questions, and you just answer straight into the tape recorder. Simple, but it feels odd at first. Very odd. Speaking into a recorder in the presence of many people was real odd. But it was rather okay in the end.

Oh, and Mid Autumn was great.

Results back tomorrow. Sigh.

No Haze

Yesterday night. PSI was 150. Now: 35. Also known as the haze just flown away from Singapore overnight. And I don't know why NEA is still insisting that the air quality is unhealthy. I feel that the air is fresh now!

Normal day... cousins came to overnight and they have made so much noise until I'm positively irritated. Shout here shout there... at least DON'T shout in the lift "I'M DROPPING I'M DROPPING!". But they just went back and our house is so quiet and peaceful.

At Jiang today, got 2 boys mistaken me as a Sec 1 kiddo. Goodness! I so boy face is it? Never mind lah, take that as compliment. :)

Marking day tomorrow.

Hazy

101. That's how bad it is. Can smell the burning smell in the air.

Anyway, didnt' realise that it was Mid Autumn Festival yesterday until dinner time. Took some photos of the event. ;)

Haze

Gawd, it's so hazy.

PSI of 80, can you believe it?

Highest so far this year in Singapore.

Super hazy at my area. Bleah.

Lazing

Lazing around on a lazy Friday morning.

The first day after EOYs. And seriously have NOTHING to do.

Playing AuditionSEA, watching Steve Jobs keynote, worrying about Green Camp in this cool but hazy day.

Will update later if something interesting crops up.

EOY Day 6

Last day of EOY.

It's over.

It's freaking over. (And thank god A Maths is not a SUPER killer)

I'm am so FREAKING over happy. Felt really great to finally have the END OF EXAMS! What's next to look out for is 'O' levels chinese AND MY FAMILY VACATION! Woohoo. I'm dying for a trip outside Singapore with my family, man. So dying to do so.

Not that I want to pangseh my dear sheeshers lah, but I miss having fun with my family during holidays. Haha. So excited and looking forward to it already.

Shortlisted for Thailand trip. I want to go but parents are kinda not willing. Never mind, don't care about that first. See how things fold out.

Wah a whole weekend lies before me. So relaxed and 'have-nothing-to-do' kind of feeling.

It's FREAKING OVER!

EOY Day 5

It's Bio paper today.

Was a rather simple paper today, thankfully. Because that bloody Physics paper is really darn DARN DARN hard. Don't really like the setter of the Physics paper now, haha. (Kidding) The whole class did the paper really quite fast compared to the past papers.

Even the teacher felt very sian. Can see how relieved she was with the ending of the paper. Haha. So delighted with Bio paper, but still got some questions that I'm not very sure however.

LAST paper tomorrow! But it's going ot be toughest one of all. So not relaly looking forward to it... Sigh...

EOY Day 3

Long time never update hor?

Also nothing much to update, lah, frankly. Life's been going on rather stupidly as EOY exams are ongoing. Never mind, fellas, few more days and we can play until we die (before we get our results back, that is)!

Pity this year's Primary 6 kids. Can't enjoy their last Children's Day today as it's the start of the PSLE. Why liddat? Seriously, let them enjoy their Children's Day. Donno how much I cherished my Children's Day when I was in P6.

Today's EOY is stupid. Chinese is extraordinarily hard, and E Maths was ok, albeit tedious abit. Chinese made me so freakin' angry. My good compo is now faced with a BAD Paper 2 and the results may not be so good in the end. And during E Maths, my nose kept sniffing and sniffing until I felt so uncomfortable, can?

It MUST be that haze around the school.
