Grad Nite 2006!

Yesterday was GRAD NITE! Finally my most-close-to-the-heart event has arrived! Been lookin' forward to this day for quite some time, especially since Pracomp (company) gave us the invitation cards.

It was rather great on the overall, and many remarks commented that this year's grad nite is better than 2005. (heh, too bad Grad Nite 2005 comm). Besides the person using the mic most of the time, the rest of the event is quite great. Also ignoring those minor minor cock ups that made me rather frantic (including the thought that I had LOST my laptop!)

[And in case you are so evil to think that I really lost my laptop, I'm using it now. Heh. Too bad.]

It has been an exhausting day yesterday. From 9am to around 11.45pm, it was all grad nite, grad nite, and more grad nite. Met Shu Xuan, Hui Shan, Felice and Yao Zhong at school and lugged everything from school to The Pines. It was really amazing - we only forgot to bring the glue! =)

We reached the Pines and found out that the Sec 2s, with Russ, are already there. Then time flew as Russ and I test printed on his DAMN cool (though slow) portable PictBridge printer. However we didn't use PictBridge technology as we edited the photos in Photoshop before printing them out.

When the Sec 4s start to stream in, we are just getting ready for everything. So when they did come, it was quite smooth going and all. Except for the fact that my photo booth "instant print" thing was not so popular.

It was indeed a memorable night. =D

Hope next year's comm will live up to this year's standards! Hahaha.
Mr and Ms NH 06 - Michelle and Leonard! Ignore that Ms Nan Hua 06 there. Haha.

GRAD NITE 2006 COMMITTEE! WHOO!!

P.S: Going off to family vacation tomorrow! YAY! Hope Open House would be a huge success for those involved (especially Council)! :)

Free Vista

Received an email from Microsoft this morning, and it generated the same buzz and excitement as the original invitation to join the Longhorn (now Vista) beta programme. Read the excerpt and you'll know why:

We would like to take a moment to thank you for your contribution to Microsoft Windows Vista. Quite simply, it would not be the product it is today without your time, dedication and thoughtful feedback. You should be proud to have helped us develop the highest quality, most secure and most reliable Windows to date. To say "thank you" we would like to provide you with a complimentary copy of Windows Vista for your use.

Oh my gosh? And the best part is it's NOT any ol' cheapskate Windows version ala Windows Vista Home Basic.

We would like to offer you a copy of the software and a product key for Windows Vista Business Edition or, if you are eligible Ultimate Edition. You are eligible to choose Ultimate Edition if the machine on which you intend to install Windows Vista already has a DVD drive and is currently licensed for DVD playback, i.e., you have already licensed one or more pieces of software for playing back DVDs

Well, I DO have a DVD-ROM drive, so I picked Ultimate. That's it. A product key worth US$399 will be sent my way in a week's time.

Boom. Boom. Wow.

Will be using the key on my future computer. Cuz my current one's outdated.

Blangah Rise

The past 2 days have been really special, as part of an attachment thingie with the people at Synergy, those coaches who brought the NH Intl Summer Camp. So obviously Hui Shan was ecstatic (no surprise).

The attachment was quite fun and enriching into seeing how the trainer handles a primary 3 class effectively and we had our try too (Hann Qian, Yueli and I took a primary 3 class). The kids kinda like us and we like them too. Haha.

Had maths lesson today about permutations and combinations. Found that it's an interesting topic (compared to the other A Maths topics). Kinda liked it as it was more LOGIC than MATHS. (aka Sudoku)

Delighted to see my grad nite card design come out today. I felt that it was very pretty on paper. It has a dual function too, to be announced on grad nite itself (it's a pretty simple idea; yet I feel it's superb)

Tomorrow is Saturday. Haha. Have nothing to do. Lookin forward to seeing the kids from Blangah Rise on Monday. ;)

Waiting

Waiting is the most ridiculous thing that you can do on a Wednesday evening.

It's stupid.

It's dumb.

When Sony has a software for its Handycam camcorder that "features automatic music video creation" but does not have basic import functionality. What do we have? WMM! Yay!

Liwen: And also that we waited 2 hours for YOUR PRESENCE, Kah Swee. WHATEVER.

Back to Kah Swee.

That is seriously lame. Anything there is a stupid thing at Blangah Rise Primary tomorrow. We're going to be faciliators for something stupid for little kiddies. And 19 suay councillors will be with me.

And Liwen has snatched to type that lame phrase from me. Really.

Vista Boxshot

One word.

WOW.

Hopefully Microsoft will be nice and send free copies to its beta testers (those who are "official" and can download builds from Microsoft Connect). ;)
