Twitter liao lor
WOW This blog is DEEEEEEEEEEEAD… don’t even know it still exists. Heh!
Until I find an urge to blog long posts, you can follow me at twitter here.
Until I stop twittering lah.
things are dead
Heh.
Guess I’m not blogging anymore huh.
Which is kinda true. I don’t really know what to put here anyway.
It’s quite funny, how this space has become a place for me to host some files and pictures and stuff… and not really using it.
No time to use it anyway. With training (so far yet so near to the end…), H3 Econs (so far to the end) and just school work piling up like crap, no time to use the computer much.
And that also means updating this dead blog.
Should focus on studies more, I guess.
Will update this blog though, when I feel like it.
(Like, today I had a race at Bedok Reservoir, which the organisers didnt want to cancel despite a huge thunderstorm there. But I still ran. Some J1s got missing while running. Like Yi Jun. Even Ashwyn got lost. Lawrence was so close to getting a medal (11th) while Raman got 1st (omg, damn pro!) )
School
School has started for 4 days already. They seem like damn long to me. Dunno why… Maybe I got used to the monotony of holidays at home, and thus the huge amount of activities kinda hit me hard. :p
Training was really tiring this week. Especially today. Don’t really like to train much now.
(But the feeling after training is damn shiok; like you are relieved of something painful)
It’s really weird to see sec 1s in NJ (wait, they are JH1s; must play with the new lingo) with their not-so-tall height, “charcoal” burmudas and just (pardon the bluntness) ‘nerdish-looking’ faces. They are moved around during Orientation and sometimes they look as if they are on a exchange programme, ready to leave in a week or so. Can’t imagine how it’ll be like when actual lessons start.
Like the new timetable though… it’s abit more spread out now, and without PW things end earlier. The staggered lunch breaks are a good idea… but NJ’s canteen just won’t fit 5 levels of students (next year it’ll be six as the JH1s move up to JH2). Time to build a canteen at boarding school and allow NJ student access during school hours.
Though it’s a lil sad to see Western stall’s qty demanded decreasing due to them increasing their prices [with all other stalls remaining relatively constant]. Wonders of law of demand.
New school term has started quite decently with me getting letter of offer for MOE H3 Econs… exciting
2009
It has been long, isn’t it?
The truth is, I act seh and tried to upgrade my Wordpress installation… and accidentally deleted the wp-config.php file. Which has all the configuration settings to make the blog work.
I didn’t have a backup.
So the blog was dead. Thanks Leung Yan for reviving it.
2008 holidays are almost over. 2009 is here! Going to (hopefully) graduate from NJC this year. So fast! It’s like only one year ago I was a newbie at NJ. (duh) But the holidays have been really really fulfilling.
So many events worth noting, just afraid I’ll forget some… The star, no doubt, of the holiday camps is OUTWARD BOUND! I was supposed to go to NJ’s YLTC before last minute change to OBS. I think it was all worth it. Made some IJ friends from my group and they are all nice people and very funny. Those five days at OBS will certainly be cherished.
Besides OBS, also had Track Camp (with awesome food trail), track farewell, Nan Hua Council Camp where I was a second i/c (almost died from walking from Nan Hua to Henderson Waves in the middle of the night), helping out at MINDS, training (somewhat), doing homework (abit), studying (even lesser).
I’m also going to be an OGL. OGL camp was okay-okay where we learnt alot of things in the short span of 2 days including the mass dance. (This reminds me of Solaris’ informal walkin performance. Yeesh) It was quite fun. Looking forward to welcoming the new J1s SH1s (yep, get used to the lingo).
Of course, the ultimate highlight is my family’s trip to Beijing! First time went to sub-zero place, first time saw real snow (not Snow City’s fake ones), first time see real snow coming down from the sky, first time followed a tour group for more than 2 days. Really really enjoyed the trip. The hotel (Sheraton Great Wall Beijing) was awesome with the beds so shiok. Too bad wake up calls are darn early and we returned damn late to the hotel. The Forbidden City was great and visiting the Great Wall is a dream come true.
Some photos are available here… just a snippet of the almost 9GB worth of photos and videos taken by our family and my cousin. Heh. (click more)
O’ribble practices
The title of the post is actually OP, if you didn’t realise.
Hahaha. No lah, actually in my opinion our group’s OP is fine. Not A type yet, but I don’t think in any chance of failing, cos of our amazing “Cigarettes on the Floor†song! Woooot.
O’ribble practices refer to track training lo. Track for this week is like insane. Either that or I’m freaking weak (guess its the second one). Tuesday training is like 60 mins long run and seriously I felt so drained after that my OP grade dropped from EE to ME. Hahaha. (Ms Koh even felt I wasn’t so cheerful)
Today’s training is like 2 in one training. We did drills, strengthening (aka Ms Eng’s Do A V Shape Torture Exercise[tm]), INTERVALS! (4 x 400m; pathetic, the lactic was horrible), and a long run around Watten Estate. And then we did core. Training took 2 and a half hours… unprecedented. Yet not so tiring (I’m sure I didn’t sleep much on Tues) after the horrible intervals.
Then went to support Hui Yong’s group for their OP Dry run 3, which is quite good I think. Seriously.
Nothing much nowadays, just doing OP, slacking around and learning Illustrator. Saw a REALLY nice Singapore 2010 logo design on Facebook today; think that will be the logo, it’s real nice. Not going to repost it here though ;P
There is a mysterious camp for *********** though, it’s getting really exciting and fun. Looking forward to it. The meetings are more and more frequent (at least between me and I/C Yaozhong)
To all taking PW OP soon, ALL THE BEST
(Ms Koh said that the teachers won’t be mean and will keep smiling)
all the best to those taking A levels too! Do well
